In the legends of Momotaro, it is said that he was accompanied on his journey to defeat an Island of Oni by a dog, monkey, and pheasant. In the version of the story published by Island heritage, his companions were illustrated as animals wearing samurai armor. I wanted to take the concept of animals wearing armor and create a series based off of the idea. This humpback whale is the first in that series called Bushido Kai.
